  • 1–3 plaster figures

    We fill each kit by size, not by count — one big shape, or two or three small ones. Every figure is poured by hand.

  • 3 paint colors

    Three pots chosen for what's in your kit — enough to cover everything twice, and enough to mix a fourth color if they're clever.

  • 1 paintbrush

    A soft-bristled brush sized for small hands. Rinse it out and it lives to paint again.

  • Our card

    A card-stock insert with painting tips on the front and a spot to write a name on the back.

Each kit comes with one to three figures from the theme you choose — how many depends on how big the shapes are. We keep every shape in stock, so name a favorite and we'll pull that exact one — or let us surprise you. Every kit is $6, with no minimum — order one or a dozen, matching or mixed.

At the kitchen table

Open, paint, done

  1. 1

    Create a space

    Cover the table, grab your supplies, and don't forget a cup of water — that's the one everybody forgets. A grocery bag or a placemat is plenty.

  2. 2

    Start painting

    Use your imagination and bring your figure to life. Plaster drinks the first coat right up — that's normal, not a bad brush.

  3. 3

    Let it dry

    Your figure might need two coats, so let it dry between them. Give it an hour and they're keepers — shelf, windowsill, backpack zipper pull, grandma's mail.

  4. 4

    Clean up and share

    Wash the brush while it's still wet and it'll be good for the next kit. Then admire what you made — and send us a picture, we're @RandRPaintYourOwn.

Kits are $6 each, and we're happy to put together a box of matching figures — or a mixed box so every kid gets something different. We keep a deep shelf of figures poured and cured, so most bulk boxes go out fast rather than waiting on a pour. Tell us how many and what day you need them.

Good things to know

What age is this for?

Three and up, with a grown-up nearby. The figures are small and solid — not a toy for babies or anyone still putting things in their mouth. Older kids (and adults, honestly) do the fussy detail work happily on their own.

Is the plaster fragile?

It's solid cast plaster, not a hollow shell, so it holds up to normal handling and being carried around. Dropped hard on tile it can chip or break — it's plaster, not plastic. We cure every figure fully before it goes in a kit.

What kind of paint is in the kit?

Non-toxic washable kids' craft paint, three colors picked to suit the figure. It comes out of most clothing in the wash, but paint clothes are still the smart call.

Can I pick the color set?

Yes — leave a note with your order. If you want a specific palette for a party theme, ask and we'll match it as close as our stock allows.

How many figures come in a kit?

One to three, depending on size. The big shapes — a tractor, a dinosaur — come one to a kit. Little ones like ladybugs and seashells come two or three. We fill by what makes a good $6 kit, not by a fixed count, and you get the same three paint pots and brush either way.

Can I choose which figures I get?

Choose the kit theme and you'll get one to three figures from it. If you want one specific shape — the ladybug, say, and nothing else — say so. We keep plenty of every shape in stock, so we can almost always pull exactly what you asked for.

How fast can I get them?

Quickly, usually. We pour ahead and keep a full shelf of cured figures on hand, so most orders are just a matter of packing them up — no waiting days for plaster to set. Ask about a specific date and we'll tell you straight whether we can hit it.

Is there a minimum order?

No — order as many or as few as you like, right down to a single kit. They don't all have to match either: one theme, a mix you pick, or a mix we pick for you all count the same.

How do orders and shipping work?

Message us with what you'd like and we'll reply with a total and how to pay. We're in Roanoke, Virginia — pickup and hand-off anywhere in town or a short drive out are free. Everywhere else goes out in a padded mailer at actual postage cost.

Do you seal the figure after painting?

The kit doesn't include a sealer — the paint dries fine on its own. If you want it shiny and waterproof, a coat of clear acrylic spray or Mod Podge from any craft store does it. Grown-up job.
